Why does your cat eat grass?
Shining some light on the reasons behind cats eating grass.

The truth is......no one really know for sure why cats get caught munching on grass and other plant leaves. There have been speculations that cats (and dogs) will eat grass as a source of fibre if they have upset tums or are having difficulty going to the toilet. This is why it's not uncommon for them to bring it back up after eating - they may be trying to ease their upset tummy. You could consider grass a natural antacid for cats.
Some cats may seek out grass for added nutrients such as folic acid and fibre if their diet isn't quite meeting all their needs. Grasses and plants also offer a lot of moisture so this may be a sign that your feline isn't getting enough moisture intake via water sources and/or food.
Remember that cats can smell ALOT better then humans (14 times more) They have 200 million odour receptors and humans have a mere 5 million.
They may just find the smell of grass appetising.
Grass is safe for them to eat, as long as the grass isn't sprayed with pesticides, but if you see them eating plants, make sure to check it's not poisonous to cats. If you have an indoor cat, it can be enriching to provide them with their very own pot of 'cat grass.' Seeds and kits can be found to grow at home, and having it available for your cat to nibble on may deter them from eating house plants they shouldn't be eating.
