An introduction to our latest new supplier, Bella + Duke.
Bella + Duke is fast becoming a household name for raw feeding dogs, but did you know they also do a great raw food range for cats?
Well we certainly do and are proud to announce we are now stocking it along with some of their yummy natural treats for that extra special mealtime.
Their story, (as often seen with other raw pet food companies,) starts from a place of self education into what we are feeding our pets. After losing precious members of their furry family prematurely, founders Mark & Tony took a good look into the nutrition they were providing their dogs.
With an end goal of helping pets live longer, happier lives with their human family, Bella + Duke was created.
Ethical sourcing is a critical part of Bella + Dukes DNA, both their treats and raw meals are UK manufactured using UK and EU produce and all meat is supplied by approved suppliers that have been accredited, are fully traceable and are from higher-welfare animals. The raw meals are then produced in house in their own factory based in Scotland.
What makes Bella + Duke an ideal starter food for cats venturing into raw feeding is the fact that their recipes are created with bone meal as opposed to minced bone like other brands. This creates a smoother consistency so is an ideal choice for first time raw feeders, kittens, seniors, cats who may not have many teeth or cats that simply prefer smoother textures.
Bella + Duke work with an in-house vet team, are DEFRA approved, PFUK certified, and to top it off, their founder helped to start RawSAFE™ which is the only legally registered certification mark for raw pet food in the UK. Developed by veterinary professionals and independently audited by hygiene specialists, it provides the highest level of assurance to manufacturers, retailers, pet owners, and veterinary professionals. Unlike voluntary schemes or trade group guidelines, RawSAFE™ is a legally protected standard, based on human food safety systems (such as BRC), and designed specifically for species-appropriate raw diets for cats and dogs.
