In short, the answer is YES! Pork is great protein which can be used to add variety to your cats diet. We know that cats require a protein rich diet to fulfil their biological needs, so why not give Pork a taste??

Pork is great for sensitive tums.

Pork meat has many benefits to your feline;

  • Pork is an easily digested meat so it can help with cats who experience gut issues.

  • It is considered a very low allergen level (hypoallergenic) as it can be considered a 'novel' protein. So can be a good alternative when other proteins may upset your kitty.

  • Pork is rich in the vitamin B1, Thiamine, which helps to regulate metabolism in cats (& humans).

  • Pork is also high in Taurine, an essential amino acid that cats need but cannot produce enough for themselves naturally.

It's important at this point to mention that when we talk about feeding pork to your cat, we aren't talking about a cheeky bacon sarnie or a slice of gammon from your Sunday roast!

Cooked or cured pork will contain very high salt content and would NOT be a good idea to feed to your cat, keep it Raw or not at all.

Feeding you cat natural minced pork meat from a DEFRA approved raw pet food manufacturer would be the perfect choice. We just so happen to stock some here at Kitty's Rawr Store:

Remember that a varied diet is beneficial to your cats health and wellbeing. We have many protein sources available to try.
